Parr Library 6200 Windhaven Parkway Date & Time
June 22, 2018 - July 21, 2018
Vocabathon is a vocabulary challenge that helps students improve cognitive and communication skills by expanding their knowledge of words. Preparation for the Vocabathon and Spellathon go hand in hand because both competitions help students learn all facets of words, including the definition, spelling, origin, roots, and usage in sentences. This encourages students to take more challenging words and truly make it a part of their working dictionary.
The objective of Vocabathon is to enhance writing skills, improve reading comprehension, and provide a solid foundation as students prepare for competitive exams such as the PSAT, SAT, ACT, and other competitive vocabulary challenges.
The registered students will receive vocabulary word lists for preparation before the competition. 50% of the questions will be from the vocabulary word lists. Please refer to the attached flyer and the FAQs for more details.
